Voluntary Benefits & Workers’ Compensation: A Cost-savings Relationship

It’s that time of year! The time when you see to the health of your company and your employees and evaluate how to set them both up for success in the upcoming year.

Did you know that enhancing your existing benefits package by offering voluntary coverages, will not only sharpen your competitive edge when attracting, engaging and retaining top-notch employees, but could also reduce workers’ compensation claims and employee absenteeism?

A recent nationwide survey* of 945 benefits decision-makers found that 40% of all companies provided access to accident coverage and 36% providing access to disability insurance reported declines in their worker’s compensation claims. In addition, 31% of companies that began offering accident coverage and 30% that began offering disability insurance experienced a decrease in worker absenteeism.

Voluntary benefits include worksite wellness programs, pre-paid legal and identity theft, critical illness/cancer programs, life insurance, travel insurance and more.
