Monthly Construction Input Prices Continue to Climb in November, Says ABC

Construction input prices increased 1.4% in November compared to the previous month, according to an Associated Builders and Contractors analysis of the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics’ Producer Price Index data released today. Nonresidential construction input prices also increased 1.4% for the month.

Nonresidential Construction Employment Rises in November, Says ABC

The construction industry added 31,000 jobs on net in November, according to an Associated Builders and Contractors analysis of data released today by the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics. Overall, the industry has recovered 998,000 (89.7%) of the jobs lost during earlier pandemic stages.

The Salvation Army in partnering with Associated Builders and Contractors Northern California (ABC NorCal) to sharpen the skills of individuals who are switching career paths or experiencing positive changes in their lifestyles.

For example, after being out of school for a number of years, Damian Torchy applied for the Construction Leadership Training Program. He wanted to improve his construction skills and boost his career in a place that provided structure. Torchy completed two job interviews and he applied for an apprenticeship.

Oakland Mayor Libby Schaaf and Alameda Mayor Marilyn Ezzy Ashcraft are expected to be two of several officials on hand at the Salvation Army Oakland Chinatown Corps Friday for a ceremony celebrating the 13 East Bay graduates of the fifth Construction Leadership Training Program.
